  • The small parish church of San Juan and its bell-gable stand in Trevejo have been declared a Cultural Heritage Site.

The architecture of Trevejo in the midst of the Sierra de Gata is testimony to the passage of the cultures which have left their mark over the centuries. This is evident in the coats of arms, the anthropomorphic tombs and especially in the small parish church of San Juan Bautista and its bell-gable, classified as a Cultural Heritage Site.

The parish church of San Juan lies at the foot the Trevejo castle and dates from the 16th century. On entry you will find a single nave and square apse and that it also has an outdoor altar and a separate bell-gable tower which was raised on a turret which is part of the castle's defences. In the surroundings there are a number of dispersed anthropomorphic tombs carved into the rock.
