Travellers who see the cloister of this convent for the first time say they feel they are transported to the "Tales of the Alhambra".
If there is one thing the village of Valdefuentes is famous for, that would be because the Augustinian Order of monks settled on its lands around the 17th century. Proof of this is the convent of San Agustín. This beautiful monastery was constructed in the 17th and 18th centuries.
If you visit it, you will be able to enjoy its lovely cloister, which is nicknamed "the miniature Escorial" due to its beauty and monumental nature, within the austerity inherent in a monastic order. The combination of the stone arches with the colour of the filigrees etched on them, and of the darkness of the corridors with the beam of light that shines in the centre, make this an admirable monument indeed.
