Corpus Christi, one of the most solemn dates in the San Vicente de Alcántara calendar, has been declared a Festivity of Tourist Interest in Extremadura.
The feast of Corpus Christi, celebrated on the second or third Sunday in June, is one of the most important feast days in the San Vicente de Alcántara calendar. The town's streets are decorated with great carpets containing drawings and floral designs alluding to the feast, which are laid down for the passage of the Corpus Christi Sunday procession. A procession in which the body of Christ is carried under the pallium around the streets of the town.
