With part of the municipality lying in the basin of the Guadiana river and another in that of the Guadalquivir, this land is home to several springs which are currently under fountains such as that of the "fábrica", the one in the Calle del Molino or the "fuente del arco" itself, among others.

The Jayona mine is one of the town's biggest attractions. Declared a natural monument, it belongs to the Spanish Association of Tourist Caves. This iron mine dates back to 1900. You can visit the inside of the mine, see its different levels, shafts, stalls and remains from the mining work, as well as checking out in person the quality of the its geological diversity.
The most important monument in the town is the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Ara in the foothills of the Sierra Morena mountains, some 7 km from Fuente de Arco. It is known as the Sistine Chapel of Extremadura. Indeed the chapel surroundings are nearly as important as the building itself, given that in addition to its interior artistic attractions, outside you can see the remains of primitive graves.
