Encompassing the Sierra de Tormantos to the northeast, the Sierra de Gredos to the southwest and the Jerte river, one of the Jerte Valley's main attractions is the Garganta de los Infiernos Natural Reserve, home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and an outstanding place for enjoying nature at its very best.

Its flora includes deciduous forests, riverside woods, alpine grasslands and brushwood groves. You can explore its many trails on foot, by bike or even on horseback and discover some of this nature reserve's idyllic beauty spots.

You will also find a wide variety of wildlife, including birds of prey such as kites, griffon vultures, imperial eagles and peregrine falcons. There are also mammals such as wildcats and genets.

The rivers and streams that flow through this natural space are home to many species of fish and there are areas set aside for fishing.

The nature reserve's most notable features include three glaciers: “Glaciar de la Serrá”, “Glaciar de San Martín” and “Glaciar de Asperones”.

The area is a paradise for lovers of outdoor activities: routes for off-road vehicles, guides tours, photographic trips, hiking and bird watching.
