    This mine offers you the chance to combine the experience of your visit with birdwatching, to observe large birds of prey like Spanish imperial eagles and cinereous vultures.

    If you visit Aliseda, don't miss the mine of La Pastora. Located in the Sierra del Aljibe, in one of the rocky formations of La Sierra de San Pedro which is also a Special Protection Area for birds, so you will also be able to take advantage to do some birdwatching, in particular of birds of prey.

    But if you focus on the mine itself, La Pastora has three levels or extraction focuses in its entrails, where iron and sulphur were mined. On your visit you will be able to see how people used to work in the mine, the reddish colour of the walls of the iron extraction galleries contrasting with the ochre and dark tones of the other cavities where sulphur was extracted; you will be able to feel the difference in humidity in the galleries with and without an aquifer or with and without a direct opening to the outside or walk through the "Cueva de la Gitana" which can be accessed via a steep path, where you can see a huge diversity of Mediterranean flora.
