This is an annual event around tench in which fifteen Extremadura towns of the Tajo-Salor Association take part.
Tench Day, a Festival of Tourist Interest in Extremadura, is held every year in one of the fifteen towns that go to make up the Tajo-Salor Association: Alcántara, Aliseda, Arroyo de la Luz, Brozas, Casar de Cáceres, Garrovillas, Hinojal, Malpartida de Cáceres, Mata de Alcántara, Monroy, Navas del Madroño, Piedras Albas, Santiago del Campo, Talaván and Villa del Rey. Tench Day brings these different towns together to celebrate a fiesta that serves as a space within which an interchange of numerous cultural events takes place.
This year it's celebrated in NAVAS DEL MADROÑO.
The host town offers visitors different activities, such as exhibitions, tours and craft shows. However, there are four basic festival ingredients that remain unchanged every year: tench tasting, the fishing competition, the cooking competition and the awarding of the Golden Tench.

Los Barruecos Natural Monument
The Los Barruecos Natural Monument is in the middle of the Cáceres peneplain. This is a spectacular natural creation that man has also helped to shape. This unique undulating landscape is dotted with lakes and enormous granite boulders.
